Basic Search for International Statistics

When comparing international data, it is common to use data from international organizations that have aligned item definitions and tabulation methods. When looking for statistics from international organizations, as with domestic data, it is best to look at the overall statistics first and then check the statistics for each field. Data from international organizations can be obtained from the databases and Web sites listed below. If you are looking for information on a specific international organization, it is recommended that you visit that organization's website.

It contains publications and statistics (including reports and journals) published by the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). This statistical information is included since the 1960s.

Maintained by the United Nations Statistics Division, this database allows cross-searching of statistical data from the United Nations and various international organizations. It contains a wide range of statistics for UN Member States and is particularly useful for those new to international statistics.

This business database, operated by Standard & Poor's, provides financial information on listed and non-listed companies, PE funds, etc., daily stock and bond prices, transaction information such as mergers and acquisitions, as well as earnings forecasts and a variety of macro statistics.

CEIC is a downloadable database of global macroeconomic statistical data from 121 countries. It selects the best and most relevant economic, industrial and financial data for economists and investment professionals to gain a deeper understanding of trends in their respective markets, with a particular focus on emerging markets.

This database, provided by the Statistical Office of the European Commission, contains statistical information on the euro area and the EU Member States, as well as the countries applying to join the EU. The statistics provided cover nine categories: general and regional; economic and financial; population and social conditions; industry, trade and services; agriculture and fisheries; extra-territorial trade; transport; environment and energy; and science and technology.

This statistical database is provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and includes data such as "International Financial Statistics" (IFS) and "Balance of Payments Statistics" (BOP). The IMF provides International Financial Statistics (IFS) and Balance of Payments Statistics (BOP).

Passport Category Level is an international market research database service called "Passport" for universities, provided by Euromonitor International. The service provides market size and brand share statistics and analytical reports on the world's top 100 countries and 30 industries, as well as market data and socio-economic indicators.

Essential Science Indicators is a statistical database for tracking citations of scientific articles based on Clarivate's Web of Science Core Collection. The database contains information on the top 1% of researchers and institutions in the world based on the number of times their papers are cited, and the data is updated every two months.

Gale In Context: Environmental Studies is offered as a database dedicated to the physical and social components of environmental issues. It includes scholarly articles, news, case studies, international conference materials, statistics, and multimedia content on topics as diverse as energy, global change, ecosystems, population, and law.

The UN Comtrade Database is the world's leading data platform for aggregating detailed world trade statistics. Compiled by the UN Statistics Division from nearly 200 countries, it reflects more than 99% of the world's merchandise trade. Data is provided in a variety of formats and additional features are available to subscribers.

World Bank statistical databases include World Development Indicators (WDI), Global Development Finance (GDF), GDP, GNI, and other information. Based on our data collection and storage procedures, we also provide metadata for other datasets such as the Microdata Library and EnergyData.Info.
